A 3 months practical course at Educator Computer Institute and College (ECIC). Build foundational knowledge, practise through structured activities and complete a portfolio project.

What you will learn

• Child Development: Create an observation form using objective descriptions.
• Play-Based Learning: Design three play activities with objectives and materials.
• Early Literacy and Numeracy: Plan a storytelling session and a hands-on counting activity.
• Classroom Routines and Inclusion: Create a visual daily routine and adapt one activity for varied needs.
• Family Communication and Safeguarding: Draft a family update and a classroom safety checklist.
• Planning and Teaching Portfolio: Submit a weekly plan, two activity plans and an anonymised reflective portfolio.

Course materials

Included in the course: written concept notes, guided practice instructions, assignment briefs, assessment rubrics and module knowledge checks. Learners retain their editable project files and reflective notes.

Course structure

Six modules, twelve text lessons including six practical assignment briefs, and six quizzes with eighteen questions. Practical assignment submission is arranged with the instructor.

Fee and duration

This course is a fully government-funded program and is completely free for everyone. Duration: 3 months.
