UI/UX Design
A 3 months practical course at Educator Computer Institute and College (ECIC). Build foundational knowledge, practise through structured activities and complete a portfolio project.
What you will learn
- User Experience Foundations: Create a project brief and map an existing registration experience with observed friction points.
- User Research and Problem Definition: Prepare an interview guide, conduct a small consent-based research exercise and summarise findings without personal identifiers.
- Information Architecture and User Flows: Create a sitemap and a registration flow covering success and validation errors.
- Wireframes and Interactive Prototypes: Build a five-screen wireframe and a clickable prototype of the main task.
- Visual Design and Accessibility: Create a small design system and refine desktop and mobile versions of the prototype.
- Usability Testing and Developer Handoff: Conduct three usability sessions and submit a revised prototype, handoff notes and a portfolio case study.
Course materials
Included in the course: written concept notes, guided practice instructions, assignment briefs, assessment rubrics and module knowledge checks. Learners retain their editable project files and reflective notes.
Course structure
Six modules, twelve text lessons including six practical assignment briefs, and six quizzes with eighteen questions. Practical assignment submission is arranged with the instructor.

This course is a fully government-funded program and is completely free for everyone. Duration: 3 months.
