AI Analyst with Power BI

A 3 months practical course at Educator Computer Institute and College (ECIC). Build foundational knowledge, practise through structured activities and complete a portfolio project.

What you will learn

• Analytical Thinking and Business Questions: Write a business analysis brief with five questions, metric definitions and a sample sales dataset.
• Data Preparation with Power Query: Clean a sales dataset, document transformation steps and compare row counts and totals before and after cleaning.
• Data Modelling and Relationships: Create a star schema using sales, product, customer and date tables and validate relationship keys.
• DAX Measures and KPI Analysis: Build revenue, cost, profit and margin measures, then test them using a small dataset and slicers.
• Dashboard Design and AI-Assisted Insights: Create a two-page sales dashboard and revise an AI-assisted insight narrative against the actual data.
• Reporting Delivery and Portfolio: Submit a Power BI project, data dictionary, validation checklist and presentation with three supported recommendations.

Course materials

Included in the course: written concept notes, guided practice instructions, assignment briefs, assessment rubrics and module knowledge checks. Learners retain their editable project files and reflective notes.

Course structure

Six modules, twelve text lessons including six practical assignment briefs, and six quizzes with eighteen questions. Practical assignment submission is arranged with the instructor.
